US Ambassador HE Mr and Mrs. Scott Delisi visited Center for Molecular Dynamics Nepal to get insight on the progress of Nepal Tiger Genome Project. Ambassador along with the USAID team had meeting with the CMDN executives and NTGP team to get updates of the project. The team also paid a visit to Intrepid Nepal laboratory to observe new technologies introduced by the project for genetic analysis of tiger population in TAL region of Nepal.
NTGP is a two year USAID funded project implemented by CMDN in collaboration with the MoFSC/GoN and DNPWC, Virginia Tech, USA and University of Idaho USA. The project has completed one year and has organized various national and International training and workshops for the capacity building and collaboration. It has also introduced bioinformatics and genotyping technology for wildlife conservation and analysis.
HE Mr. Scott Delisi and his team showed high interest in the activities being carried out by the Project and its achievement so far. During his interaction with the CMDN team members; HE gave his views on the upraising issues in conservation and encouraged the team to keep up with the efforts. USAID team enthusiastically took part in the program and wished for the success of the project.
