A study on the Plasmodium vivax Relapse Pattern and Prevalent genotype in Far-Western Nepal

Malaria is one of the major public health problems in Nepal. CMDN/INPL in collaboration with the Nepal Health Research Council carried out prospective longitudinal study in 2010/2011 in a six health centers of Kailali and Kanchanpur district with six months follow-up period. Genotyping was done by PCR-Restriction Fragment Length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) in polymorphic circumsporozoite parasite in Nepal is important for understanding the dynamics of disease transmission and choice of anti-malarial drugs.
